As enhanced versions of the Vandersteen VCC-1 center speaker and VSM-1 surface-mount speaker, the VCC and VSM Signature Editions incorporate advanced technology and components originally developed for the Vandersteen Model Five Reference Loudspeaker. While Richard Vandersteen's signature on the input plate is the only external change from the standard series, every aspect of the speakers' internal design and construction is significantly upgraded for use in a reference quality multi-channel system with Vandersteen Model 3A or Model Five main speakers.

The drivers used in the Signature Editions are carefully selected from the entire stock of VCC and VSM drivers for their superior linearity and resolution.

Each VCC and VSM Signature Edition driver is run-in for 200 hours to determine the acoustical and electrical trends that will develop over the complete break-in period.

The Signature Edition crossovers feature new technology and improved layouts. Extensive use of Vandersteen Model Five Reference quality components enhances sonic purity and consistency.

The crossover in each Signature Edition speaker is critically matched to the specific characteristics of that speaker's particular driver. Innovative phase and frequency compensation circuits are hand tailored and adjusted to maximize each speaker's frequency and phase linearity and insure the closest possible match to the model reference.

VCC and VSM Signature Edition speakers are internally wired exclusively with custom silver wire for maximum signal transfer.

The impulse phase characteristics and frequency responses of every speaker are converted to a binary format and stored in a computer database for future reference.

The VCC and VSM Signatures are fully upgradable. As better materials or technologies evolve, reasonably priced updates will be available to incorporate the improvements into existing speakers. This insures that every VCC or VSM Signature loudspeaker, regardless of age, can continue to represent the leading edge of loudspeaker design, technology, and performance.
